New Delhi, July 20, 2018: Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the Burgman Street at Rs 68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). With European styling, the scooter will appeal to both matured buyers and young enthusiasts. The bulbous front apron sports an LED headlight with a windscreen at the top. The indicators are also integrated into the apron for a sporty look. Apart from the 21.5-litre underseat storage, there are two pockets (1-litre each) in the apron to store knick-knacks as well. The instrument cluster is lifted from the Gixxer range and is fully digital. The tail light is also LED but the indicators are of bulb-type. Another nifty feature is the flexible foot position. There’s a pair of foot pads on the apron as well, which enables the rider to sit in a relaxed, leg-forward position.
According to reports published in zigwheels.com by Praveen M Powering the Burgman Street is the Access 125’s engine that’s good for 8.7PS at 7000rpm and 10.2Nm at 5000rpm. The 124cc SOHC carburetted engine works in conjunction with a CVT unit. As per WMTC cycle, the scooter returns 53.5kmpl. Riding on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped with MRF Zapper tubeless tyres, the scooter comes to halt using a disc up front and a drum at the rear, both with combined braking system. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a single shock absorber at the rear. There is only one variant available in the market (front disc with combined braking system).
The Burgman Street competes with the Honda Grazia (Rs.63,994), Honda Activa 125 (Rs 64,007), Aprilia SR 125 (Rs 66,764), TVS NTorq (Rs 59,687) and Vespa LX 125 (Rs 72,787), all prices ex-showroom, Delhi. Bookings are already open in the country, and ranges from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 varying from dealer to dealer. The Burgman Street is available in Black, Grey and White metallic colours.
