New Delhi, July 13, 2018: The maxi-styled scooter has reached some dealerships ahead of its launch, hinting at a quicker delivery schedule
According to report published in zigwheels.com by Niraj With only a few days left for its launch, the Suzuki Burgman Street has already started hitting showrooms. While we already knew that dealers had started accepting bookings of the maxi-styled scooter, this development suggests deliveries of the scooter will begin soon after the launch.
Scheduled for launch on 19 July, the new Suzuki scooter is expected to fetch an asking price of around Rs 65,000 to Rs 70,000. This is because the Burgman Street will be placed as a more premium offering over the Suzuki Access, which retails for Rs 59,118 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the disc brake with CBS version. With this expected price, it is also Rs 3,000 – 4,000 more expensive than other 125cc scooters like the NTorq and the Grazia. That is a quite a difference to pay for potential customers.
To smoothen the deal, Suzuki will pack the Burgman Street with features. After all, it has to live up to the Burgman name from which it is inspired. This includes all-LED headlamps, a fully digital instrument cluster, LED tail lamps, generous amount of storage space and more. Not to mention, it’ll be India’s first maxi-styled scooter with its imposing front apron and overall bulky design.
While Suzuki hasn’t disclosed any power figures, it was confirmed at the Auto Expo 2018 that the scooter will be powered by the same 124.3cc engine found on the Access 125. This motor produces 8.7PS of power and 10.2Nm of torque. It’ll use telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the back to handle suspension duties. Braking will be taken care of by drum brakes at both ends, with the option of a front disc brake. Considering the Access’ latest update, we expect the Burgman Street to come equipped with Combined Braking System as well.
