New Delhi, August 14, 2018: Maruti Suzuki has launched the DZire Special Edition at an introductory price of Rs 5.56 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. The diesel variant is priced at Rs. 6.56 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). Being based on the entry-level L trim, Maruti DZire Special Edition gets several added features at a marginal cost of Rs 30,000 than the standard LXi/LDi trims. It can be touted as a smart move by the company to drive the sales of base variants of the sedan while challenging the likes of Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Aspire.
According to reports published in autoportal.com by Mayank Gupta The DZire Special Edition doesn’t get any cosmetic makeover but comes loaded with several additional features in form of front power windows, wheel covers and rear parking sensors as standard. Furthermore, it also boasts of a Bluetooth-enabled music system with two speakers in the front doors and remote central locking. The regular LXi/LDi variants get Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) and dual front airbags as standard safety fitments, and the special edition has retained these features. Currently, it is not known that how many units of DZire Special Edition would be made and retained in both the petrol and diesel fuel trims.
