Mahindra unveils the new Maxximo Plus Mini-truck in Bengaluru

March 5, 2013, Bengaluru: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., a part of the US $ 15.9 billion Mahindra Group, today announced the launch of the new Maxximo Plus in Bengaluru, the country’s most technologically advanced 0.85 ton payload mini-truck. Equipped with the pioneering yet simple-to-use Fuel Smart technology, the new Maxximo Plus allows the customer to choose between higher power (26 HP; 19.2 kW) OR higher mileage (21.9 KMPL), as and when he needs, at the press of a switch. An upgrade over the successful Maxximo launched in 2010, the Maxximo Plus is attractively priced at Rs. 3.46 Lac (BS3, Ex-showroom Bengaluru).

Apart from Fuel Smart technology, the new Maxximo Plus adds to the superior value proposition of its predecessor with a longer wheelbase and a stronger 7-leaf rear suspension, which imparts more sturdiness under heavy load & over rough roads. The new Maxximo Plus also comes with a class-leading 2 year / 60,000 Km warranty, which provides greater peace-of-mind to the customer. Apart from these significant new advantages, the new Maxximo Plus retains the delight-features which give it the lead in Comfort, Style & Safety. Hyundai starts producing zero-emission cars

Hyundai, with its ix35 Fuel Cell vehicle, has become the first automaker in the world to start assembly-line production of zero-emissions, hydrogen-powered vehicles. The ix35 is based on the carmaker’s ix35 C-segment SUV.

Hyundai plans to build 1,000 ix35 Fuel Cell vehicles by 2015 for lease to public and private fleets, primarily in Europe, where the European Union has established a hydrogen road map and initiated construction of hydrogen fuelling stations.

After 2015, with lowered vehicle production costs and further developed hydrogen infrastructure, Hyundai will begin manufacturing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles for consumer retail sales.

Built with proprietary technology, Hyundai’s ix35 Fuel Cell is powered by hydrogen. A fuel cell stack converts the hydrogen into electricity, which turns the vehicle’s motor. The only emission generated by the ix35 Fuel Cell is water. Hyundai’s ix35 Fuel Cell boasts drivability and performance similar to that of the petrol ix35. The ix35 Fuel Cell can be refuelled in only a few minutes, accelerates from 0-100kph in 12.5 seconds, has a top speed of 160kph and can travel 594 kilometres on a single charge

The ix35 Fuel Cell vehicle will be displayed at the 2013 Geneva motor show.
