As per reports, the car will be assembled at BMW’s Chennai facility while sharing the same engine platform as seen on the current on-sale 3-series models. The new car enjoys a bigger cabin, lighter weight, stiffer body shell, and comes with a new performance feature known as ‘Damping System’ which enhances the grip of the car on the road surface.
According to reports published in autoportal.com In terms of looks and design, the basic silhouette remains unchanged. The most prominent visual upgrade is the new L-shaped LED daytime running lights which sit in the place of the older round lights. The new kidney grille is bigger, and the tail lights are now very close to rectangular in shape. The latest design has taken a new step in BMW’s iconic designing pedigree.
On the inside, BMW has bolted together the new cabin with an all-new dashboard, fewer buttons, higher quality materials, while some bits such as AC vents and the iDrive dial are carried over from the current generation car.
The new 3-series features a standard 8.8-inch infotainment screen, while the 10.25-inch system is optional. As expected, the system is operated by the company’s latest iDrive system which can be controlled via the rotary dial, touchpad, touchscreen, voice commands or gesture control.
