New Delhi, January 19, 2019: Toyota has launched the tenth-gen Camry in India today with a price tag of Rs 36.95 lakh (ex-showroom India). The new Camry is available in India with hybrid powertrain only, like the outgoing model. It is, however, available overseas as a petrol-only model.

The tenth-gen Camry made its global debut in 2017 and is longer, wider and more spacious than the previous version. Its hybrid powertrain gets a 2.5-litre petrol engine with the electric motor. The net output of the powertrain is 218PS. The torque figure remains unchanged at 221Nm.

According to reports published in The Camry comes equipped with safety features like 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, park assist, traction control and vehicle stability control. There is also a new steering wheel with a new layout for the steering-mounted controls for audio, telephony and cruise control as well. It also gets three-zone climate control and a capacitive touchscreen on the rear armrest.

The Toyota Camry will now resume its rivalry with the likes of the Volkswagen PassatSkoda Superband Honda Accord Hybrid.
