New Delhi, March 08, 2019: The new Honda Civic India launch has finally happened. The executive sedan is offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims in three grades: V, VX and ZX. The 2019 Honda Civic price in India starts at Rs. 17.70 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) in the country. The new Honda Civic is developed at the Japanese automaker’s Greater Noida facility with localization levels up to 70 percent. The bookings for the sedan commenced nearly a month back at all the company authorized dealerships at a token amount of Rs. 31,000. The car challenges the likes of Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra in the Indian market.
According to reports published in autoportal.com The India-spec new Honda Civic 2019 sedan is not exactly the model that Honda had showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo but a mid-cycle facelift with subtle cosmetic updates. The new Honda Civic pics show that it flaunts sleek headlights with L-shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), front chrome grille and C-shaped chrome appliques near the bumper. The sedan rides on dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels while the rear profile is completed by the ‘boomerang’ LED tail-lamp cluster. The new Honda Civic interior is loaded with a plethora of exquisite features in the form of 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, remote engine start, electric sunroof and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Talking about the safety features, the 10th-gen Honda Civic 2019 India boasts of first-in-segment Honda Lane Watch Blind Spot detection system. In addition, several premium safety features make their way in the new sedan, like 6 airbags, hill start assist, vehicle stability assist, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist etc., to name a few. Mechanically, the petrol variants are powered by the 1.8 L SOHC i-VTEC engine which develops power output of 139 bhp and torque performance of 174Nm. It is available with a CVT gearbox while it returns a fuel economy of 16.50 kmpl (ARAI specified). On the other hand, the diesel variants get power from the CR-V’s 1.6 L motor which is good for 118 bhp and 300 Nm.
