New Delhi, March 09, 2019: The new Ford Figo facelift will be launched in India on 15 March. The carmaker also confirmed that the upcoming car is now available for bookings for a token amount of ₹10,000 across its dealerships in India. With this mid-cycle update, the new Ford Figo will receive a handful of cosmetic updates and also add two new engine options.
Talking about the exterior changes on the Ford Figo 2019, it will come sporting a honeycomb front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, revised headlights, and a set of new alloy wheels. Inside, Ford will most likely introduce new upholstery along with its SYNC3 infotainment system with a 6.5-inch floating touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
According to reports published in timesnownews.com There’ll be some changes in the context of safety provisions as well — the Ford Figo facelift will get dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, seat-belt reminders, and a speed-alert system as standard across all variants. However, the top-of-the-line variant is expected to get four more airbags.
Now, on to the 2019 Ford Figo facelift’s engine options — the car will be offered with two new petrol engines from the company’s Dragon series. The 1.2-litre petrol engine puts out 94.68 bhp and and 120 Nm, while the 1.5-litre develops 121.31 bhp and 150 Nm. Transmission options for the petrol engine will include a five-speed manual gearbox for the 1.2-litre motor, and a six-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.5-litre engine. Ford will also offer a 1.5-litre diesel unit, retained from the exiting model, on the new Figo; paired to a five-speed manual transmission, this engine develops 98.63 bhp and 215 Nm.
If the carmaker’s pricing strategy with the updated Endeavour and Aspire is anything to go by, expect the new Ford Figo facelift’s price to also be slightly less than the current model. Also, the car will continue facing competition from the Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Swift, and Volkswagen Polo.
